Our next meeting will be on Thursday July 17 . At 7 PM we will have a Dahlia 101 class for beginners. A lecture on Compost Tea will be held at 8:15 PM It will be held at the Carriage House in Bayard Cutting Arboretum on Montauk Hwy in East Islip. See the Calendar Tab for directions

July 2006 Newsletter Our July General membership meeting was well attended by over 40 members and featured an informative talk by Steve Nowotarski on container gardening. Steve donated his container creation to the Bayard Arboretum dahlia gardens. Our next General membership meeting will be on Thursday, August 17th at the Carriage House in the Bayard Arboretum at 7:30 PM. Directions are on the bottom of the Calendar page. Before the next membership meeting we will hold our Annual Picnic at the Bayard Arboretum dahlia gardens on Sunday August 13th at 3PM (under the shade of the big Maple tree). Members are asked to bring a dish to share. This is always one of our nicest and best attended events of the year. The club provides drinks and paper goods. By the way, members often bring those unidentified blooms to the picnic in hope that someone will recognize it and have the proper name. Hopefully Joe Lysik and Pat Murphy will be taking over the duties of webmasters of this website as of the end of July and Mark can get acquainted with his dahlia gardens again.
